The Music Box

Synopsis:-
Evelyn, a young woman crippled at a young age after her parents were killed in a motor vehicle accident, discovers a mysterious music box after her Grandmother that she and her sister have been living with, dies.
The music box holds a secret beyond imagination. When she opens it, she unwittingly awakens the Pneuma—enigmatic, otherworldly beings that exist between reality and dream. As the music box’s melodies fill the air, Evelyn is drawn into a realm where time, memory, and desire collide.

Background:-
The original concept when I sat down to write this, was to take elements from two of my favourite plays, The Glass Menagerie and Harvey and create an original piece of work.

Mabel and Alice – Cash

Synopsis:-
Cash is a riotous black comedy about two elderly sisters who owe a large sum of money to local thug Mick the Ripper and are being hounded by Dirty Dave the debt collector — and only have three days to find it. With their cupboards bare and their wits no sharper, Mabel (the pompous dreamer) and Alice (the brutish cynic) launch a series of hare-brained schemes that spiral from the absurd to the downright criminal.
Joined by a parade of eccentric neighbours — including a miming drama queen, a lamb-loving gambler, and a pair of lust-struck pensioners — the duo stumble through cat-kidnapping, egg-painting, Tinder scams, and more. Inspired by the anarchic spirit of Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson, ‘Mabel & Alice – Cash’ is a slapstick farce of insults, violence, and wild imagination — proving that getting old doesn’t mean growing up.

THE YOUNG ONES

Synopsis:-
Mabel,72, has been madly in love with Cliff Richard for 55 years, ever since he released the song “The Young Ones” in 1962. They are “meant to be” and nothing will get in the way of them being together. Not even her sister Alice!
Characters:-
Mabel: Madly in love with Cliff Richard. Approximately 75 years old.
Alice: Despises Cliff Richard. Approximately 78 years old
Foley #1: Foley Actor making sound effects on stage and visible to the audience.
Foley #2: Foley Actor concealed from the audience, ideally close to Foley #1
Background:-
This play was selected as a finalist for the Macarthur Playwriting Festival 2017. It is a tribute to the comedy style of the late Rik Mayall.

“Ted Jessop Discusses…” is a television show hosted by Ted Jessop that covers current social issues. This week the topic is ‘Internet Addictions’, which Ted and his three internet addicted guests will openly discuss.

Ted Jessop: Television Host
Colin Appleby: Has an addiction to Twitter that is so extreme that he can now only talk in tweets
Helen Backle: Is addicted to taking selfies
Lisa Cowen: Is currently the third highest ranked Pokemon Go player in the world
